Today
the library is in full use. Although Passmore Edwards still
looks down on those that enter the library, from his position
high above the entrance lobby, today's users come not only to
read the newspapers and magazines or borrow from the extensive
stock available at the library or through the inter library
borrowing scheme. Whilst the ground floor is given over almost
entirely to the lending library, significant changes can be
found on the first floor. What had originally been the museum,
and then the reference library, is now given over to a suite
of computers available to all and giving access to the Internet. |
