| Today
the Passmore Edwards building still holds its commanding position
on the "Moor", recently repaved to serve Falmouth in the
21st Century. |
| |
The original
municipal offices are still retained for Falmouth
Town Council. Whilst on the ground floor are the administrative
offices and the office of the Town Clerk, above, accessed by the grand
staircase is the Council Chamber and Committee Rooms. Above the stairs
and along the walls of the gallery are hung exhibitions from the Art
Gallery. |
| The Library
serves an expanding Town. Now offering Video, DVD and CD rental,
a computer suite and local studies and reference room, the library
also contains the Maritime Collection, a collection of books,
charts, videos periodicals and pamphlets. These include Lloyd's
Registers dating from 1792 and books on the history of ships
and shipping in war and peace. There is practical information
on boat building and repair, and sailing manuals for Yachtmaster
courses, as well as information on most marine activities both
sporting and commercial. |
